Here is a questions I get all the time: Why is Fat Loss so Hard?
Lets just put it out there: Losing body fat, especially around the belly, is hard. It's a common goal that many people struggle with, and there are a multitude of reasons why it can be so difficult. In this blog post, I want to explore some of the reasons why I find that fat loss is so hard based on what I see from my clients journey, and how making lifestyle changes and mindset shifts can make a big difference in your success.
One reason why fat loss is hard is that it requires significant lifestyle changes. This in other words, is saying that you have to live life differently than you have the last 20, 30, 40, 50+ years. Losing fat isn't just about changing your diet or exercising more; it requires a complete overhaul of your habits and routines. This can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially if you're used to living a certain way.
For example, if you're used to eating fast food and not exercising regularly, making the switch to a healthy diet and a consistent exercise routine can be tough. It's not just about the physical changes you need to make, but also the mental and emotional ones. You may need to break old habits and create new ones, and that takes time and effort.
Another reason why fat loss is hard is that it can be a slow process. Not seeing results right away can be very discouraging for many, as we are taught in society to get things immediately. It's important to remember that losing fat is a lifelong journey, and it's not going to happen overnight, or even over the next 6 months. It takes time and consistency to see progress, and it's important to stay motivated and focused on the long-term goal.
Mindset is, in my opinion, one of the biggest factor in fat loss. If you're not in the right mindset, it can be easy to give up or get turned off the whole process. It's important to approach fat loss with a positive and proactive mindset, and to remember that setbacks are a normal part of the process.
So essentially, losing fat requires a combination of lifestyle changes and mindset shifts, and that is what's not easy. With dedication and perseverance, it is beyond possible to achieve your fat loss goals. It will be hard, but will you be upset with the results in the end?
